Before you dive in, keep in mind that some of these content ideas may or may not make sense for your brand and/or audience. The goal is to keep your audience interested and engaged with your brand on social media. Avoid marketing TO your audience but instead, find ways you can talk to and learn from your audience through the content you share.
1. International/National Days
There are tons of random days such as "National Chocolate Day" or "National Taco Day"... These are fun to partake in and easy ways to produce more content. Check out a list of National Days here, https://nationaltoday.com/national-day-calendar/
2. Remind people about who you are and what your business is all about
Sometimes we get caught up in trying to sell products or share events/news that we forgot to remind our audience or new followers what it is our business does and how it got started. This kind of content should be on a reoccurring schedule that makes sense to your business and the amount of content you're sharing.
3. Share Testimonials, Feedback or Reviews
Followers love to hear what other people are saying about your business! Sharing testimonials every once in a while is a good way to remind people how you and your business are helping others solve problems in their lives whether through a product or a service.
4. Capture the action behind the scenes
Packaging products? Baking cookies? Working on a new Yoga Routine? Whatever it may be, people love to see what it's like behind the scenes. This type of social media content makes your audience feel more connected to the business by seeing the hardworking people behind the scenes. This content can be refreshing to your audience if they're used to seeing pretty, curated content all the time.
5. Share a tip
Share a tip related to your business that you feel your audience would find useful. Tips on wine tasting, how to make your manicure last, different ways to use your product, etc.
6. Post a Throwback Thursday or Flashback Friday
This is a fun way to share your audience how far you've come in your business!
7. Thank your audience and clients
Let your audience know how much you appreciate them and their business! Sometimes we get caught up in all the other aspects of marketing on social media that we forget to thank the people who've been supporting you and your business. Again, thanking your audience should be reoccurring on your social media content calendar.
8. Answer FAQ's
I'm sure you already have a few FAQ's you can think of off the top of your head or maybe a list already on your website you can tap into. If your audience isn't already asking these questions there is a good chance they are thinking them or about to ask them. Put yourself one step ahead, you're audience will appreciate the convenience.
9. Share industry news or articles
Sharing links to articles you find interesting AND that are related to your business is a fun and easy way to boost engagement on social media. Share your thoughts about the news and invite your audience to share their opinion.
10. Ask your audience questions
Spark conversation with your audience on social media by asking them questions. Ask them what flavor they like better, if they prefer tacos over hamburgers, if they would like to see new business hours, etc. Not only do these questions spark conversation but they also help you learn more about audience so you can better your business for them.
We hope you find these tips useful as you plan out your social media content calendar!
